Course Details

“DIPLOMA IN CULINARY ARTS – 6 Months” is a Vocational Hospitality Qualification developed by Kings Hospitality College keeping in mind the adolescents and youths of a developing country like Nepal where a majority seek short duration of studies and quick employment opportunities.
With this course, students gain moderate theoretical information and extensive practical knowledge of Kitchen Department in Hospitality Industry in a short period of time.

COURSE COMPOSITION
This qualification is delivered and completed within the course period of 6 months covering Theory and Practical Classes.
Students come across 4 subjects relevant to Hospitality Industry with 2 major subjects related to Culinary Arts and Service which are also accounted as practical subjects . 
In total, this is a 26 Credit Hours and 400 Assessment Marks Course successfully completed in 6 Months – Period of Time.

Certification Criteria

  1. Attendance – Min 80%
  2. Examination and Assessment
  3. Demonstration of practical skills
  4. Completion of Internship

Examination and Assessments are conducted right after completion of Theory and Practical Classes within the duration of 6 Months. On successful completion and passing of both Theory and Practical Assessments, learners are awarded with “Diploma in Culinary Arts (6 Months)”.

Students on successful completion of this program are recommended to join Minimum 20 weeks or 6 Months duration of Industrial Training / Internship in suitable 4 or 5 Star Hotel Property. 

This program can be compared with any Internationally Benchmarked Level 2 or 3 Diploma in Hospitality Vocational Qualification.

Grading System
The overall achievement of each student will be measured by a final aggregate percentage of all subject and graded as follows:

  • 80% & above: Distinction
  • 60% to 79 % : Merit
  • 50% to 59%  : Pass
  • Below 50%    : Fail = Retake of assessment


Retake Policies
Students who fail an assessment are given chance to retake their assessment for 4 times until 3 years of time only.
